The English yacht, the Duncan, left to the rescue of the shipwrecked captain Grant, along with the captain’s two children, on the faith of a message found in a bottle. Also on board was a French geographer, Jacques Paganel, a sympathetic but funny fellow who found himself on the wrong ship.
The expedition led us through some amazing adventures, a journey from America to Australia. With the captivating description of the nature and the fauna in an impressing variety, Jules Verne’s imagination will bring the eyes and the mind of the reader to remote regions of this wonderful planet.
This is one of my favourite books of all time. After reading this book, I’ve since longed for making the journey by following the same trajectory.
